Freshmen Admissions



Admission to Undergraduate Degree Programs

Admission to the university requires students to satisfy the following:
1.    Satisfactory completion of secondary education or its equivalent, e.g. Philippine Educational Placement Test (PEPT) or a Non-Formal Equivalency test both given by the Department of Education.
2.    Passing the FEU College Admissions Test (FEU-CAT).

Admission to the university is initially recommended and processed by the Admissions & External Relations Office (AERO) located at the ground floor of the Arts Building or the Technology Building Lobby, Visitor’s Lounge.

Enrollment to the university is a contractual relationship between the student and the university whereby the student agrees to abide by the rules and regulations of the institution.

For applicants to BS Accountancy:

•    There is no direct admission to BS Accountancy.
•    Students will first be enrolled in BSBA major in Internal Auditing.   
•    Admission is only for the first semester of each school year and is open only to incoming Freshmen.
•    Students must have no failure in any of the Accounting courses.
•    They must obtain a cumulative GWA of at least 2.50.  
•    Pass at least the total academic load in their first two curriculum years.
•    They will be required to pass a qualifying test/exam to be given after completion of the two year academic requirement.
•    Students must get at least 75% passing rate based on cumulative GWA and results of the comprehensive qualifying exam to be administered by the Accountancy Department.  The qualifying grade is to be computed as follows:
GWA = 30%
Qualifying Exam = 70%

For Transferees
•    Transferees will be advised to enroll in BSBA Major in Internal Auditing or other degree programs.
•    Only transferees with above average ratings in the FEU-CAT will be evaluated for admission.
•    Only minor courses will be credited.  
•    For English and Mathematics, a grade of 1.50 or better will be credited.
•    Transferees will be allowed to take the qualifying exam leading to BS Accountancy after completion of the two year academic requirement.
     o    Students must have no failure in any of the Accounting courses.
     o    They must obtain a cumulative GWA of at least 2.50.  
     o    Pass at least the total academic load in their first two curriculum years.
     o    Students must get at least 75% passing rate based on cumulative GWA and results of the comprehensive qualifying exam to be administered by the Accountancy Department.  The qualifying grade is to be computed as follows:
GWA = 30%
Qualifying Exam = 70%

For applicants to BS Architecture and Fine Arts:
•    In order to qualify for 2nd year Architecture and Fine Arts, students should pass the qualifying and skills test to be given during their freshman year.
•    Transferees need to pass an aptitude test prior to admission to Architecture or Fine Arts.
•    Only transferees with above average ratings in the FEU-CAT will be evaluated for admission to BS Architecture.

Additional Admission Policies for BS Medical Technology
For Incoming Medical Technology Freshmen:
•    Students must undergo a complete routine laboratory examination and Hepatitis B screening as part of the admission and enrollment process.
For Medical Technology Transferees:
•    Transferees must attain an above average rating in the FEU College Admissions Test.
•    They must have a general weighted average (GWA) of at least 2.25 with no grades in core subjects (General and Inorganic Chemistry, Qualitative/Quantitative Chemistry, Integrated Human Anatomy and Physiology, Introduction to Medical Technology with STS, Organic Chemistry, Biochemistry, and General Biology)  lower than 2.5.
•    The highest entry level is second year.
•    Major subjects previously taken from other schools will not be credited.
•    All transferees must undergo complete routine laboratory examination and Hepatitis B screening as part of the admission and enrollment process.

For applicants to BS Nursing:
•    All applicants will have to undergo a screening process prior to enrollment in the following areas:
1.    Essential Physical Requirements – Height of at least 5 feet for female students and 5 feet 2 inches for male students
2.    Essential Mental Abilities
3.    Essential Sensory Perception
•    Students should be physically fit.
•    In order to qualify to Level II Nursing, students should pass the Nursing Aptitude Test (NAT) and evaluation process to be given before their Sophomore Year.
•    Admission is during the first semester of each school year only.
•    Only transferees with above average ratings in the FEU-CAT will be evaluated for admission.

For Nursing Transferees:
1.    Grades should not be lower than 2.25 in minor subjects or its equivalent.
2.    No major subjects will be credited.
3.    Highest entry level is first year irregular.
4.    IN will not admit second coursers.

Enrollment Requirements
Successful examinees are required to submit the following during enrollment:
➢    Original Form 138 (4th year High School Report Card) or equivalent documents such as Permanent Record Card, Transcript of Student Progress, Certificate of Secondary Completion, PEPT Record, GED Certificate, Certificate of High School Equivalence, etc.
➢    Photocopy of the NSO Birth Certificate.
➢    Down payment for enrollment as indicated in the notification letter

Note: Students who lost their high school credentials should submit the following to the AERO:

  • Official Form 137
  • Duly notarized Affidavit of Loss
  • Signed letter of explanation

Incomplete Requirements
➢    Enrollees with incomplete requirements will be required to sign a waiver form with an indicated deadline for submission of requirements.

Admission of Students on Probation
•    Students classified “on probation” have attained scores below the university cut-off score.
•    Students on probation will not be allowed to take the following degree programs:
a.    BS Accountancy
b.    BS Architecture
c.    BS Medical Technology
d.    BS Nursing
•    They will be advised to strictly follow the selective retention policy.
•    They will also be endorsed to the University Counseling and Career Office for inclusion in the Student at Risk (STAR) Program.

 

Application Procedures for the FEU-CAT
1.    Applicants must secure a FEU-CAT application form from the following:

  • High School Guidance Offices
  • AERO, Ground Floor of the Arts Building
  • Technology Building Visitor’s Lounge

2.    They have to fill out application form and attach 2 pieces of 2x2 colored ID pictures.
3.    A testing fee of P450 will be paid to the designated cashier.
4.    Completed forms are then submitted to designated AERO Staff members.
5.    An official receipt and schedule will be given to applicants.
6.    They will then take the FEU-CAT on the designated date, time and venue. The official receipt serves as a test permit.

Reminder: No retake policy is strictly applied.

FEU-CAT Results

Results may be known through the following:

  • Notification letters to all examinees
  • Official results posted in the website two (2) working days after the testing date.
  • Phoned in inquiries, except for transferees to Accountancy, Architecture, Nursing, and Medical Technology.
  • Posted results in bulletin boards located at the Technology Building lobby one (1) week before the start of the freshmen enrollment period
