Dear FEU Alumnus/Alumna:

Greetings!

Far Eastern University has had a great tradition in athletics. It has produced countless Olympians, such as Lydia de Vega, Elma Muros, and Olympic silver medalist Anthony Villanueva, among others.

Its athletics program also continues to be among the best in our country and in the UAAP. Our FEU athletes and teams have consistently won championships in the UAAP, the National University Games, the CHED Palaro Games and other elite competitions. In the UAAP, we have the most championships in basketball, volleyball, track and field and chess.

Last season our teams won seven championships in the UAAP -- the most in the league despite our competing in only 20 out of the 28 UAAP sports. We also had eight UAAP Most Valuable Players. Moreover, 15 of our athletes were members of the Philippine National Team in various sports.

Unlike in some universities which rely mainly on alumni support, our achievements were done with funding coming mostly from the FEU and some corporate sponsors and very little from FEU alumni. However, with the changing landscape in the UAAP, additional funding and alumni support are now needed to maintain FEU’s standing in the league.

A modest donation of P500.00 or so from each of you, the alumni, to FEU’s Athletic Fund will come a long way in assuring the continuous success of our program. After all, the success of the teams is shared by all of us -- the University, the students, and you, the alumni, whom we wish to make always proud of FEU.
