Publications

The Far Eastern University Publications was a unit under the University Research Center until it was organized into a separate entity headed by Dean Jaime An Lim of the Institute of Arts and Sciences (IAS).

The work for both the University Research Center and the FEU Publications has been increasing, thus arose the need to delineate their respective functions and responsibilities. On March 15, 2005 the Board of Trustees confirmed and ratified the proposal for the Publications Office to evolve into a separate entity called the FEU Press, which would be under the Office of the Vice President for Academic Affairs and would take care of the Diamond Book Series and of the publication of University textbooks. On March 21, 2005, the Executive Committee allocated a budget for the FEU Publications of 3.98 million to be appropriated from the University funds.

FEU Publications started its operations on April 1, 2005. The Office was temporarily housed at the IAS Dean’s Office. It is headed by the operations manager and maintains a house editor and two designers. Other editors are hired in response to project demands. IAS Dean Jaime An Lim serves as Publications Consultant.

The FEU Publications primarily caters to the publication needs of the University. It is an arm dedicated to the productions and distribution of learning and instructional materials created by the University Faculty.

VISION / MISSION

The Far Eastern University Publications is envisioned to be the center for the production of instructional materials for subjects in the General Education Curriculum as well as the publication of trade books, research, and creative works primarily of the FEU faculty, students, staff, and alumni. The Office seeks to fulfill the University’s function not only as a disseminator of information but, significantly, as a contributor to the world’s body of knowledge in various fields.
