Application for Exchange Students in Far East University, Korea now open

Be part of the Global Leadership Development Program of Far East University, Korea!

Far East University, Korea is once again opening its doors to qualified FEU students to participate in the Global Leadership Development Program (GLDP) as an exchange student. The GLDP is an international student program designed to expose students to Korean culture, education and youth leadership.  The program is from June 2013 to January 2014 (or up to March 2014).

  • Equivalent courses taken in FEU Korea will be credited by FEU Manila

Procedures for application

  • Secure endorsement from your institute Dean/ Program Head
  • Secure Report of Rating from the Registrar for all semesters enrolled in FEU
  • Fill out application forms at the Admissions and External Relations Office (AERO) Ground Floor, Arts Building
  • Personal essay stating why you want to participate in the GLDP as an exchange student.

Deadline of submission of application forms is on May 10, 2013.

•    Promissory Note (PN) application forms are available at the Office of the Treasurer. Read the guidelines carefully. Fill out and sign the form.

•    Submit the accomplished PN form to Window 4 of the Office of the Treasurer, observing the hours for submission, as follows:

    8:30 a.m.  – 3:00 p.m.

•    The List of Students with Approved PNs will be posted at the individual Institutes on the day following your application.

•    If approved, no further action is needed. You are electronically cleared. You may take the Final exams, as scheduled.

•    If your name is not on the Approved List, please proceed to Window 3 of the Office of the Treasurer for you to be provided with the required action.

Pre-Registration Announcement for International Students

• International Students are now included in the online Pre-Registration.

• They will follow the instructions and schedules for Irregular Student pre-registration.

a. IABF Irregular Pre-Registration Schedule starts on February 14, 2013.
b. IE Irregular Pre-Registration is ongoing.
c. IAS, IARFA, IN and ITHM Irregular Pre-Registration starts on March 11, 2013.

• In order to officially enroll the pre-registered courses, International Students will have to complete the following:

a. Submit visa extension requirements to the Registrar’s office from March 23, 2013 to May 22, 2013.
b. Secure clearance to enroll from the Registrar’s Office.
c. Pay tuition and other balances on or before May 31, 2013. Otherwise, reserved schedules will be automatically declared open and the student will have to undergo regular enrollment procedures.

• All international students are advised not to choose/ enroll NSTP 1 or NSTP 2 to avoid enrollment hassles. International students are not required to take these two courses.

Student Visa extension reminders

For International Students
1st Semester School Year 2013-2014

• All international students are reminded to pass their complete Student Visa Extension Requirements to the Registrar’s Office (RO) for the 1st Semester of SY 2013-2014. They can start doing so on March 23, 2013.

• It is advised that international students submit all these requirements on or before May 22, 2013 to avoid any problems or delays during enrollment. Submitting the requirements after May 22, 2013 will already mean delays in the processing of the extension and delays in the enrollment process.

• Enrollment begins on May 27, 2013. Classes start June 10, 2013.

• Student visa extension is required every six (6) months by the Bureau of Immigration. The usual deadline dates are June 15 and December 15 of every year.

• Just like the student visa conversion, the Registrar’s Office (RO) and the AERO will assist all international students in this process.

• All international students will have to be cleared by the Registrar’s Office before enrollment.

ONLINE PRE-REG

  •  Choose your block or course schedules in advance.
  •  Enroll in advance.
  •  Be in the same block/ section with friends and batch mates.

EASY STEPS

  • Log on to FEU Website under Student Portal
    1. February 11, 2013 for Regular Students
    2. March 11, 2013 for Irregular Students
  • Click the Pre-Registration button
  • For regular students, choose your preferred Block.
  • For IABF and irregular students, choose your course schedules.
  • Preview your schedule.
  • CONFIRM.

REMINDERS

  • Your course schedules will be reserved and can be changed from February 11, 2013 up to May 21, 2013 only.
  • Once you have settled your previous balance and minimum down payment during the pre- registration period, the reserved or confirmed schedules will be automatically enrolled on May 22, 2013.
  • The deadline for paying your previous balance and minimum down payment is May 31, 2013. Your pre-registration will be cancelled if you fail to pay on or before this date. You would then have to enroll according to the usual enrollment procedures.
    1. If you fail a course that is prerequisite of a course that you pre-registered, the pre-registered course will be disabled unless you repeat and pass this course in the summer.
    2. For block students, if you still fail the prerequisite course in the summer, your block pre-registration will be cancelled and you will have to enroll under the old enrollment procedures as a free (irregular) student.
    3. For free (irregular) students, if you still fail the prerequisite course in the summer, the remaining pre-registered courses will be automatically enrolled and further course changes will have to be done during the adjustment period.
  • Only students who have pre-registered will be able to access the pre-registration screen during the grace period. (for viewing only)
  • For those who did not pre-register, the usual enrollment procedures will apply starting on May 27, 2013.
  • International Students are not allowed to pre-register. They have to enroll according to the normal enrollment procedures starting May 27, 2013.
