
The BS Accountancy program aims to prepare and develop students to become globally competitive accountants vis-à-vis the requirements of the global workplace.
For applicants to BS Accountancy:
• There is no direct admission to BS Accountancy.
• Students will first be enrolled in BSBA major in Internal Auditing.
• Admission is only for the first semester of each school year and is open only to incoming Freshmen.
• Students must have no failure in any of the Accounting courses.
• They must obtain a cumulative GWA of at least 2.50.
• Pass at least the total academic load in their first two curriculum years.
• They will be required to pass a qualifying test/exam to be given after completion of the two year academic requirement.
• Students must get at least 75% passing rate based on cumulative GWA and results of the comprehensive qualifying exam to be administered by the Accountancy Department. The qualifying grade is to be computed as follows:
GWA = 30%
Qualifying Exam = 70%
The objectives of the program are to:
• Create competent professional accountants capable of making a positive contribution to the profession and society;
• Prepare students for the tough Certified Public Accountants (CPA) licensure examinations; and
• Assure students of employment in private establishments and government agencies.
