ACCOUNTANCY PROGRAM

VISION- MISSION

Guided by the core values of a true- blooded Tamaraw; fortitude, excellence and uprightness, the Accountancy Program of FEU- IABF, Makati envisions itself as a Center of Excellence in Accountancy Education.

It commits to develop  future responsible accounting professionals through holistic accountancy curriculum, extensive and innovative delivery of instruction, competent and highly qualified faculty, state- of the art facilities, industry and community- based researches, practical- based student apprenticeship program and extensive community involvement.

 

Specifically, the Accountancy Program aims to achieve the following:

  1. To produce highly qualified accounting graduates who will become Certified Public Accountants.
  1. To develop future accounting professionals who will serve as agents of societal changes.
  1. To hone future accounting professionals to be globally competitive.

Bachelor of Science in Accountancy

The BS Accountancy program envisions to prepare and develop students to become globally competitive accountants qualified to work in the global workplace.

The objective of the program is to produce competent professional accountants capable of making a positive contribution to the profession and society.  Specifically, the BSA program is designed to:

  • Prepare students for the tough Certified Public Accountants (CPA) Licensure Examinations.
  • Prepare students for employment in private establishment and public sector (government agencies).

Student Learning Outcomes:

  • Achieve technical competencies in the following areas: financial reporting, management accounting services, audit and assurance, regulatory and legal framework in business transactions, strategic risk management, advanced accounting and taxation.  The competency is at the level as defined by the breadth and dimension required for future CPAs as prescribed in the CPA Syllabus;
  • Acquire the essential skills pervasive to a CPA’s work that include critical thinking, effective communication, creating solution to business issues and problems, and informed and adept in the latest business technology tools;
  • Develop enabling attributes to become future accounting professionals who will serve as agents of societal change.

  1. To prepare Accounting Technology students for eventual entry in the regular degree program of Bachelor of Science in Accountancy;

  1. To produce competent  Accounting Technology graduates with appropriate values, ethics and attitudes;
  1. To hone future accounting professionals to be globally competitive.

 

Bachelor of Science in Accounting Technology

The Bachelor of Science in Accounting Technology is a four (4) year program envisions to prepare and develop students to become globally competitive Accounting Technicians qualified to work in the global workplace.  The program’s adequate element of finance and accounting courses qualify the graduates for works in accounting related aspects of commerce, banking & financial institutions.  Big opportunities are also open in Business Process Outsourcing (BPO) companies- accounting and finance sections, for BS AT graduates.  The BS AT is a non Board program.  However, certifications are available for students and graduates such as Certified Bookkeeper, Certified Accounting Technician (CAT), Registered Cost Accountant (RCA), Certified Payroll Professionals (CPP).  BS AT graduates can also take the qualifying exam for admission in the BS  Accountancy program. If qualified, they can pursue additional higher accounting studies to earn the second degree that will make them eligible to take the CPA Licensure examination.
