The AUN-QA assessment certification for these four programs is a crucial first step in internationalization and standardization efforts of the university to ensure quality education for its students.

Far Eastern University is granted prestigious AUN-QA certifications for four undergraduate programs — Bachelor of Science in Accountancy, Bachelor of Science in Business Administration, Bachelor of Science in Biology, and Bachelor of Science in Medical Technology.

AUN-QA (ASEAN University Network-Quality Assurance) promotes quality higher education and collaborates with international bodies for the benefit of the ASEAN community. The network currently has 140 member institutions in the ASEAN region, with FEU being one of only nineteen (19) member institutions in the Philippines.

Last November 8 to 12, 2020, FEU had its first AUN-QA Program Level Assessment, focusing on Expected Learning Outcomes, Program Specification, Program Structure and Content, Teaching and Learning Approach, Student Assessment, Academic Staff Quality, Support Staff Quality, Student Quality and Support, Facilities and Infrastructure, and Quality Enhancement and Output.

The four programs were credited for being properly aligned with the FEU Learning Outcomes, the Program Expected Learning Outcomes (PELOs) and Course Expected Learning Outcomes (CELOs), the student-centered learning (SCL) paradigm, and the well-designed and updated teaching and learning facilities and equipment, according to FEU Academic Quality Assurance Director Aisa P. Arlos.

AUN-QA chief assessor Dr. Eric Wibisono, during the final day of the assessment, ended his presentation with a quote from Ratan Tata: “If you want to walk fast, walk alone. But if you want to walk far, walk together.” This puts emphasis on strengthening FEU’s benchmarking activities to achieve its aspirations of becoming a university of choice in Asia.

FEU Vice President for Academic Development Myrna Quinto said the AUN-QA assessment certification for these four programs is a crucial first step in internationalization and standardization efforts of the university to ensure quality education for its students.

FEU aims to have most of its programs certified by the AUN-QA, with eight more programs already scheduled for review this 2021.
