Privacy and Quality Policy

Introduction

FEU Roosevelt is committed to protect the fundamental human rights of privacy on personal information pursuant to the provisions of Republic Act No. 10173 also known as the Data Privacy Act of 2012, and its implementing Rules and Regulations and the Basic Education Act of 1982.

Administration Offices, employees, students, and other stakeholders including parents, partners are enjoined to share in the responsibility to secure and protect personal and/or sensitive information collected and processed by FEU Roosevelt in pursuit of legitimate purposes.

Storage and Retention

All information collected that is maintained by the University is stored using our third-party service providers and hosting partners to provide the necessary hardware, software, networking, storage, and related technology required to run FEU Roosevelt, which can only be accessed by authorized personnel and agents.

The information collected is aggregated until its declared purpose has been achieved.

Sharing and Disclosure

The information collected is not shared with or sold to other organizations for commercial purposes except for the following circumstances:

  • When you permitted FEU Roosevelt to use your information.
  • When it is necessary to share information to investigate, prevent, or take action regarding illegal activities, suspected fraud, situations involving potential threats to the physical safety of any person, violations of our Privacy Policy, or otherwise required by law.
  • When we transfer information about you in the event that FEU Roosevelt is acquired by or merged with another company. FEU will notify you before the information about you is transferred and becomes subject to a different policy.
  • FEU Roosevelt may disclose personal information under special circumstances, such as to comply with subpoenas or when your actions violate the Privacy Policy.

Security

To ensure the confidentiality of the personal data we collect, use, and maintain, we have adopted the technical and organizational measures necessary to prevent the alteration, loss, unauthorized processing or access of the collected personal data. However, as effective as our security measures are, we still cannot guarantee the security of our database whenever the information you provide us are being transmitted over the internet.

We ask that you remain responsible in sharing confidential information such as passwords, e-mails, contact numbers, and other personal information that you use to access the internet or other mobile applications.

We encourage you to report any vulnerabilities that may be found in our webpage or any application through our webpage to our Data Privacy Office.

Your Rights

As the data subject, you are granted the following rights as written in the RA 10173 or the Data Privacy Act of 2012:

  • You have the right to be informed that your personal data will be, are being, or were, collected and processed.
  • You have the right to demand access from an organization to any information relating to you that they have on their database.
  • You have the right to object if the personal data processing involved is based on consent or on legitimate interest.
  • You have the right to suspend, withdraw, or order the blocking, or destruction of your personal data.
  • You have the right to claim compensation in the event that you suffered damages due to any violation of your rights and freedoms as data subject.
  • You have the right to file a complaint with the National Privacy Commission in any case that you feel that your data privacy rights have been violated.
  • You have the right to data portability. It allows you to manage your personal data and assures that you have full control over your own data.

Changes

FEU reserves the right to make changes on this Policy from time to time. Should there be any significant changes, we will notify you by sending a notice to your primary email address specified in your FEU Roosevelt account or by placing a prominent notice on our site. If you are a regular visitor to this webpage, we recommend that you check this Privacy Policy on a regular basis.
