Far Eastern University retains its AUTONOMOUS STATUS from the Commission on Higher Education (effective 2024-2027).

The Autonomous Status is the highest recognition given by the Commission on Higher Education to deserving higher education institutions (HEIs) which are consistent with service “through quality education, research, and extension work.”

Higher education institutions (PHEIs) with autonomous status have top-quality education and consistently excellent program results. They often have many accredited programs and are recognized for leadership in education. CHED gives them the most freedom to manage and innovate their academic programs.

FEU in the Quacquarelli Symonds (QS) World University Rankings

Asia 2025 edition

For the second consecutive year, Far Eastern University (FEU) and FEU Institute of Technology (FEU Tech) proudly secure a spot in the prestigious Quacquarelli Symonds (QS) World University Rankings. In the latest Asia 2025 edition, FEU and FEU Tech collectively rank 118th in Southeast Asia and 10th in the Philippines.

They also advanced in the Asian University Rankings, moving to the 681-700 bracket from the previous 701-750 range. This year’s rankings, assessed through rigorous indicators such as Research and Discovery, Employability and Outcomes, Learning Experience, and Global Engagement, underscore FEU and FEU Tech’s unwavering commitment to academic excellence, impactful research, equitable access to high-quality education, and vibrant student engagement.

FEU Records Notable Gains in QS Asia University Rankings 2026

Far Eastern University and FEU Institute of Technology continues to strengthen its academic and global standing as reflected in the in the QS Quacquarelli Symonds Asia University Rankings 2026.

FEU posted significant improvements in three key indicators:

Academic Reputation rose from 14.5 to 26.4, reflecting growing recognition of FEU’s excellence in teaching, research, and scholarly influence among academic peers across Asia.
International Research Network increased sharply from 4.1 to 23.4, underscoring FEU’s expanding engagement in cross-border collaborations and its commitment to contributing to the global body of knowledge.
Employer Reputation improved from 34.6 to 45.4, affirming industry confidence in FEU graduates and the University’s alignment with professional competencies required in a rapidly evolving workplace.

Despite an increasingly competitive regional landscape, FEU and FEU Tech remains among the top ranked universities in the Philippines and within the Top 132 in Southeast Asia, demonstrating sustained progress toward its vision of becoming a leading learning ecosystem in Asia.
