Current Programs
Academic Intervention
These programs are aimed to help students who did not reach requirements for retention, i.e., Quality Point Average (QPA), in the university. Students may avail of or be recommended to these programs when their performance reflects that they cannot maintain the academic standards of the university. As such, students may be allowed to continue their studies in the university after they’ve taken and passed the intervention programs.
In addition, these programs seek to help students who are currently struggling with their academic requirements; modules on foundational skills such as RSWL (Reading, Writing, Speaking, and Listening), Productivity, and Critical Thinking are offered.
Compared to Academic Intervention Programs, students may avail of, or be recommended to, Academic Support Programs instead during the semester.
Mentoring Enrichment and Engagement Training (MEET)
The MEET program is a one-time intervention program for students applying for university readmission. It consists of academic (intensive reading, writing, speaking, and listening) and non-academic (soft skills) modules.
MEET is composed of students who did not meet their required QPA either for the program (PNRA) or the university (UNRA). Upon completion, these students have the opportunity to return to the university (UNRA) or their program (if PNRA).
Academic Support
Math Clinic
The Math Clinic is an academic support program in partnership with the Institute of Arts and Sciences – Math Department (IAS – Math) and the Institute of Education (IE). The program is for 1st year students and is meant to provide them a review of essential mathematical concepts to ensure that they have the necessary skills to learn the math-related subjects in their curriculum. The topics are as follows:
- Algebra
- Geometry and Trigonometry
- Precalculus
- Calculus
- Basic Probability
Likewise, to ensure the program’s effectiveness, a pre-test and post-test is administered to the students.
Productivity Workshop (ProWork)

The editors are selected through a qualifying examination and continual editors’ training.
Language Proficiency Programs
Intensive Language English Language Course (INTELAC)
The Intensive English Language Course (INTELAC) is designed to provide English proficiency training to students who want to improve their command of the English language. The course develops learners’ speaking, listening, reading, and writing skills for use in academic and non-academic tasks. Enrollment in INTELAC is a requirement for FEU students who need to meet the university’s required English proficiency, based on the results of their English Proficiency Examination (EPE).
English Proficiency Examination (EPE)
The FEU English Proficiency Examination (EPE) is a standardized test that determines an individual’s level of proficiency in the English language. International students who do not have a valid TOEFL or IELTS certificate are required to take the EPE before admission to the university. The EPE may also be taken by Filipino students who need a language proficiency certification.
Envoy English Proficiency Exam
IDP’s Envoy English Proficiency Exam is a collaboration between FEU-CLEARS and IDP Education. The test is administered through Envoy’s web-based application and is guided by Artificial Intelligence (AI). The exam provides both the test administrator and the test takers insights to improve the latter’s English proficiency. It measures the test taker’s reading, writing, listening, and speaking skills and eventually generates scores patterned after the Common European Framework of Reference for Languages (CEFR). FEU students take this test at the start and end of their studies in FEU.
The test and the students’ scores are used to develop and enhance our language and learning-related programs. Furthermore, it provides the students key information about their English proficiency, i.e., their current level and recommendations to further improve it, in case they wish to pursue a career abroad.
