The Office of Graduate Studies is an extension of the Academic Affairs Office and its primary function is to serve as the Academic Affairs’ secretariat for the graduate programs. Secondary to the Registrar’s Office and the university Institutes, the Office of Graduate Studies also maintains a record of graduate students’ progress.
Additionally, the OGS ensures a system for implementing and scheduling graduate students’ comprehensive exams, thesis and dissertation writing, proposals, and defenses. It does this in accord with agreed individual Institute policies and practices. Finally, the office is tasked to give support in promoting integrity in the ethical conduct of graduate research and scholarship, and in managing the FEU graduate students’ journal and annual colloquium.
