Core Functions and Responsibilities:
- Faculty Development and Training:
EDTECH provides continuous professional development for ALL faculty members, offering workshops, training sessions, and support for using educational technologies. This includes comprehensive and personalized sessions on tools like Office Tools, LMS, AI applications, plagiarism and AI detection, and data analytics, ensuring faculty can effectively integrate these technologies into their teaching practices. - Learning Management System (LMS) and Platform Support:
The office manages the university’s Learning Management System currently powered Canvas, ensuring seamless operation through the synching of student enrollment, assisting, and user support for faculty and students. EDTECH is dedicated to enhancing the overall teaching and learning experience. - Academic Computer Laboratory Management:
EDTECH oversees the operation of the university’s academic computer laboratories, ensuring that hardware and software meet the academic and technical needs of students and faculty. Responsibilities include installing and maintaining educational software and ensuring that labs are fully functional and accessible for classes, research, and other academic purposes. - Educational Licenses Management:
The EDTECH manages the procurement, distribution, and compliance of educational licenses for software and digital resources utilized across the university. This includes ensuring that faculty and students have access to the necessary licenses for educational tools and applications. - Technology Integration and Assistance:
The EDTECH is responsible for introducing and integrating emerging educational technologies, such as artificial intelligence, virtual platforms, and data-driven tools, into the academic environment. - Policy Development and Compliance:
EDTECH recommends policies governing the use of educational technologies, ensuring compliance with data privacy regulations set by the university. This includes guidelines for the ethical use of digital resources across the technologies, addressing data protection, intellectual property and AI integration. EDTECH promotes a secure and compliant digital environment for faculty and students fostering a culture of responsible technology use across the institution.
