Its objective is to provide education to select students who are unable to continue their studies due to financial difficulties.
I. Eligibility
- Must be a Filipino citizen, without pending immigration application to any foreign country
- With gross family income of not more than three hundred thousand pesos (Php 300,000.00) per year
- Must have a qualifying weight average grade of 80% or an accumulative GWA of 2.5% in all previous college years (starting from 1st year to current year), for incoming 3rd year
- Must be enrolled in any of the following disciplines: Accounting, IT, Engineering or Education
- Must have good moral and academic character
- Must be in good mental and emotional health
- Must not have been the subject of any material disciplinary action
- Must not be a recipient of any other scholarship, and
- Must be enrolled in at least 15 units or normal load of the course at the time of the award of the grant.
II. Requirements
- Latest tax exemption certificate or income tax return of both parents (ITR). For parents working abroad, a photocopy of the contract showing the monthly salary or certificate of employment (COE) with monthly salary.
- If ITR is not available, submit a certificate of non-filing of tax or tax exemption from the BIR AND a Notarized Affidavit of No or Low income from Law Offices indicating the estimated monthly income of both parents; if parents are separated and the student does not receive any financial assistance from any or both of the parents, submit an Affidavit of No Financial Support and Single Parent Certificate (notarized) plus the ITR/Certificate of non-filing or exemption (the certificate of non-filing of tax/exemption should always be accompanied by an affidavit).
- For applicants whose expenses/tuition are funded by a sponsor (relatives, siblings, etc.), documents are the same as above and are still required to submit supporting documents regarding the parents’ financial status.
- For deceased parent/s, upload a scanned photo of the Death Certificate.
III. Benefits
- The scholarship program will cover basic full tuition, with a maximum of Php 30,000.00 per semester.
- Monthly living allowance of Php 5,000.00 for 10 school months
- Allowance for miscellaneous school-related expenses, such as books, equipment, or uniforms, in the amount of Php 10,000.00
- Board review fees (for degree programs with board exams)
- Possible internship opportunity in the MPTC group of companies
- Php 50,000.00 if the scholar ranks number 1 in the relevant national board exam, and Php 20,000.00 if they land on top 2 to top 10
IV. Retention Requirements
- Must be of good scholastic standing, maintaining a weighted average not lower than 2.5 in the past semester, with no failing grades and no subject dropped during the same period
- Must maintain a normal/regular course load each semester and graduate within the prescribed number of years of schooling for candidates pursuing an engineering degree
- Must not be employed while school is in session, until the completion of the degree program
- Must not shift to another course or go on a leave of absence (LOA) without prior written prior approval from FEU. Any additional academic workload due to shifting shall not be covered by the scholarship
- In the event that LOA is granted, the scholarship benefits shall be suspended for the period of the LOA and any scholarship benefits advanced for the period covered by the LOA will be returned by the scholar.
