Far Eastern University serves as an active repository of Philippine art, culture, and history, enriching campus life through artistic expression and heritage preservation. Through the FEU Center for the Arts (FCA), the University continues its tradition of nurturing artistic talent, promoting Philippine culture, and fostering creative engagement.
Building on the legacy of the FEU Auditorium, formerly known as the cultural center of the Philippines, the FCA offers year-round programs in theater, music, and dance through exhibitions, festivals, competitions, lectures, workshops, and campus tours. Its seven cultural groups, namely the FEU Bamboo Band, FEU Chorale, FEU Dance Company, FEU Drum and Bugle Corps, FEU Drummers, FEU Guides, and the FEU Theater Guild, give student-artists opportunities to develop their craft and represent the University at local, national, and international events.
Beyond the performing arts, FEU’s artistic identity is deeply rooted in its architectural and cultural heritage. In 2005, the campus of FEU Manila, home to the largest ensemble of Art Deco buildings in the Philippines, received the UNESCO Asia-Pacific Honorable Mention Heritage Award for its holistic approach to heritage conservation. In 2018, the National Commission for Culture and the Arts (NCCA) declared these buildings by National Artist Pablo Antonio Sr., and an additional one, as National Cultural Treasures.
The campus also houses significant artworks, including life-size murals by National Artist Carlos “Botong” Francisco, sculptures by National Artists Napoleon Abueva and Vicente Manansala, the largest Art Deco painting in the country by Antonio Dumlao, and bas-reliefs by Francesco Ricardo Monti.
Guided tours enable members of the FEU community and visitors to discover and appreciate its rich art collection, distinctive architecture, and rich cultural legacy.
At FEU, arts, culture, history, and heritage are living traditions that inspire creativity and celebrate Filipino identity.
