Child Playing

A child, all by herself, lured by the mysterious and magical charm of colors, becomes wholly absorbed in her toys and playthings, then suddenly discovers a fuller consciousness of her world. With her bright eyes open and her tiny hands grasping at things – each object a source of wonder and fascination – her mind, slowly developing in phases, construes what in a few more years will gain a clearer definition. All these are crystallized by Araceli Dans in an artwork that, judging by its felicitous quality, also seems to have wholly absorbed the artist.
