Empowering Researchers: The Quality Matters Seminar-Workshop
The FEU-University Research Center and University Library are honored to collaborate with Elsevier, and CE Logic to host a seminar-workshop titled “Quality Matters: Publishing in Reputable Journals” on March 14, 2024. The session lasted for an hour and a half, featuring a keynote address by Dr. Johan Jang, focusing on identifying reputable Scopus-indexed journals. Furthermore, alongside the physical event, an online seminar-workshop took place on April 29, 2024, featuring the same collaborators and enhanced by a partnership with the Office of Graduate Studies. This virtual event provided an accessible platform for remote participants to engage with the content and participate in discussions, further extending the reach and impact of the seminar-workshop.
Focused on promoting research integrity and empowering researchers, the sessions provided tools and knowledge to distinguish predatory from reputable publishing practices. The discussion covered various aspects crucial to publishing research papers, including foundational understanding, difference between subscription and open access models, journal aims and scopes, contents, impact, and insights.
Attendees, including both students and faculty members, learned about tools to assist in journal selection and received guidance on avoiding predatory publications.
This initiative provided valuable insights in choosing reputable journals for publication.
