Far Eastern University (FEU) continues to advocate for responsible research practices, this time in collaboration with the Metro Manila Health Research and Development Consortium (MMHRDC).
Their workshop aimed at building the capacity of participants in addressing the complexities involved in research ethics without compromising the integrity and quality of academic and scientific pursuits. Featured were experts who led discussions on principles and realities of the responsible conduct of research.
Sessions were held on ethical decision-making, integrity of data, and protection of human rights in research. The question-and-answer portion after each session provided a platform for knowledge management, experience-sharing, and discussion.
“This initiative underscores FEU’s commitment to fostering ethical research practices and maintaining integrity in all research endeavors,” said Joycelyn A. Filoteo, University Research Center ethics director.
Filoteo considered the workshop vital in academic and scientific discourse, for she said it promoted the production of studies which contribute “meaningfully to society.”
The three-day workshop last Nov. 13 to 15 was conducted via Zoom. It was attended by research ethics reviewers, faculty research advisers, researchers, and graduate students from FEU and MMHRDC member institutions.
