Guidance Counselors

About the Job

We are looking for passionate guidance counselors/associates to join us in making a difference.

Responsibilities

  • Student Support and Counseling: Provide individual and group counseling to students on academic, career, college readiness, and personal/social issues.
  • Crisis Intervention: Respond promptly to student crises, offering support and resources to ensure students’ emotional and psychological well-being. Collaborate with parents, teachers, and outside agencies to address and manage student crises effectively.
  • Academic Guidance and Monitoring: Monitor students’ academic progress, providing necessary interventions and support to help them achieve academic success.
  • Program Development and Implementation: Develop, implement, and evaluate comprehensive school counseling programs that promote student development and align with school goals. Organize workshops, seminars, and informational sessions on relevant topics such as mental health awareness.
  • Collaboration and Advocacy: Collaborate with teachers, administrators, and parents to create a supportive learning environment and address student needs.
  • Psychological Assessment and Interpretation: Administer, score, and interpret psychological tests and assessments to evaluate students’ cognitive, emotional, and behavioral functioning. Use the results to develop individualized support plans and make recommendations for appropriate interventions or referrals to external mental health professionals.

Requirements

Must be MA/MAEd/MS in Counseling Graduate or with ongoing MA/MAEd/MS units in Counseling

Must be AB/BS Psychology Graduate

Preferably a Registered Guidance Counselor (RGC) or must be halfway in attaining the license

Proficient in individual and group counseling techniques including problem-solving, conflict resolution, and crisis intervention strategies
