Inclusive and Collaborative Leadership for Sustainable Change
Mission/Vision
Formerly known as Student Development (SDev), the Office of Student Involvement (OSI) envisions itself as a dynamic support unit that responds to the diverse needs of students by creating meaningful learning experiences that foster holistic development.
To achieve this, OSI implements the following programs:
1. Student Leadership Activities for Transformation and Empowerment (SLATE)
This program supports vibrant and proactive student organizations in initiating and implementing student development activities. It includes the accreditation of student organizations and publications, as well as the monitoring of their approved initiatives.
2. Circles of Leadership Influence Program (CLIP)
CLIP provides learning opportunities that empower students to engage in meaningful discourse and participate in training programs designed to enhance their skills. The goal is to cultivate leaders who enable others, serve both local and global communities, and embody the FEU brand of leadership.
CLIP Projects:
- For elected/appointed student leaders:
Technology Transfer of Attitudes, Skills, and Knowledge (TASK)
Management of Operations and Systems Training (MOST)
Planning, Integration, and Teambuilding Project (PITP)
- For scholars:
Skills and Competencies Advancement and Leadership Education (SCALE)
- For freshmen:
Freshmen Leadership Excellence Training
3. Leadership Succession
OSI ensures leadership continuity by overseeing student elections through the FEU-COMELEC and by providing training and mentorship for the Council of Advisers (CoA) via the Advisers’ Competencies Training (ACT).
4. Student Off-Campus Engagements (SOCE)
OSI facilitates the selection of official student representatives for local and international leadership development programs, as well as off-campus conferences, seminars, forums, and competitions.
5. Student Welfare Programs
In collaboration with the Office of Student Discipline, OSI develops and implements student welfare initiatives, including policies on school uniforms, accident and health insurance, and the Food for the Body + Soul program.
6. FEU Wellbeing Program (FEU WEB)
This program promotes student wellbeing across eight interconnected dimensions of the wellness wheel: physical, intellectual, emotional, social, occupational, financial, environmental, and spiritual. These dimensions are essential for a balanced and holistic life.
7. Building Empathy and Sensitivity/Inclusivity Talks (BEST)
Under the Office of Student Discipline, BEST offers a series of discussions, forums, and workshops aimed at fostering empathy, sensitivity, and inclusivity among students.
8. National Service Training Program (NSTP)
Mandated by Republic Act No. 9163, the NSTP enhances students’ civic consciousness by instilling the ethics of service and patriotism through the Civic Welfare Training Service (CWTS).
