The editorial team of the Asian Journal on Perspectives in Education (AJPE) has deepened their technical knowledge and confidence in using Open Journal Systems (OJS), the publishing platform recently adopted by AJPE.

The team, including Dr. Rosarito T. Suatengco, editor-in-chief; John Angelo V. De Leon, managing editor; and Dr. Romualdo A. Mabuan, principal associate aditor completed a two-part training series conducted by the Public Knowledge Project (PKP), a global leader in open-source journal publishing technologies. Their sessions were held via Zoom last May 28 and June 6, and were facilitated by Müge Bakioglu, publication support specialist from PKP Publishing Services.

During the sessions, the team configured the journal’s backend, managed the editorial workflow, and navigated the OJS interface. Topics included menus and settings, user roles and permissions, and the integration of themes and plugins to enhance journal functionality. Their training also included a guided walkthrough of submission management, review assignments, and publishing procedures aligning AJPE’s practices with international standards.

For Far Eastern University, the training represents an institutional investment in building digital publishing capacity and expanding access to Philippine-led scholarship on a global scale. The AJPE editorial team is now better equipped to manage submissions and ensure a smooth and transparent publishing experience.

This training marks a significant step in AJPE’s digital transformation and reinforces its commitment to streamlining its editorial processes for authors, reviewers, and readers.

As AJPE strengthens its digital infrastructure and editorial operations, it also moves closer to achieving its long-term goal of international indexing and increased research visibility. The journal invites scholars, educators, and researchers to submit their work through AJPE’s new online platform at https://ajpe.feu.edu.ph/index.php/ajpe/index. For inquiries, they may contact ajpe@feu.edu.ph.
