Far Eastern University (FEU), through its Institute of Tourism and Hotel Management (ITHM), led this year’s national assembly and general membership meeting of the Philippine Association for Researchers for Tourism and Hospitality (PARTH).
Centered around the theme “Embracing Today and Unlocking the Future: Artificial
Intelligence for Tourism and Hospitality Education and Research in the Philippines,” the seminar explored the role of AI in transforming education, research, and industry practices.
Lecturers included FEU Institute of Education dean, Dr. Aisa Arlos and Center for Learning Enrichment and Research for Students director Marko Antonio Da Silva, who spoke on the impact of AI on tourism and hospitality. The President’s Report was presented by Dr. Maricel Herrera while the Treasurer’s Report was shown by Dr. Claire Ann DM. They both provided an overview of the organization’s accomplishments, financial standing, and future directions.

During the seminar, discussions focused on ethical AI integration, fostering an open forum for collaboration among professionals. Beyond its academic and industry insights, the event reinforced PARTH’s vision, emphasizing the importance of active participation in shaping the future of tourism and hospitality research in the country.
The event is closely aligned with FEU-ITHM’s pursuit of academic excellence, specifically in regulatory, adaptive, and matched excellence. By addressing the integration of AI in tourism and hospitality education and research, the discussions reflected FEU’s commitment to transformative education and innovation.
Expert-led sessions highlighted ethical considerations, curriculum enhancements, and advanced research methodologies to ensure responsible AI utilization in academic and professional settings.
The event also supported ITHM’s regulatory efforts by equipping faculty and researchers with updated industry standards and best practices. Additionally, it encouraged educators and professionals to embrace AI-driven methodologies while preserving research integrity and quality. Through these efforts, the program reinforced FEU-ITHM’s mission of producing graduates and professionals proficient in the latest technological advancements, with a strong foundation in ethical and research-based decision-making, thereby strengthening the institution’s leadership in tourism and hospitality education.
The seminar concluded with a renewed commitment to continuous learning, ethical research, and innovation within the tourism and hospitality industry.
Organized by LikhaNa Productions in partnership with PARTH, the event was conducted last Feb. 21 at the ITHM Events Hall. New officers of PARTH were also elected.
