Faculty members from Far Eastern University (FEU) are geared toward the country’s development as they recently took their oath as new associate members of the National Research Council of the Philippines (NRCP) under the Department of Science and Technology.
The NRCP, through Act No. 4120, serves as the country’s premier advisory body for scientific research and policy. Its mandate includes: promoting and supporting fundamental research to strengthen the capability of individual and group scientists; fostering linkages with local and international scientific organizations for cooperation and knowledge-sharing; providing expert advice on issues of national interest; and promoting scientific and technological culture across all sectors of society.
The induction of FEU faculty members highlights the university’s growing role in advancing research and contributing to national development through science and innovation.
Among those inducted were Reynold Agnes and Juanito Anot Jr. of the Institute of Arts and Sciences, together with Maria Arlene Disimulacion, Ryan Joseph Calinao, and Racky Masa of the Institute of Tourism and Hotel Management, who joined Division VIII-Social Sciences. Meanwhile, Marc Lancer Santos was sworn in under Division I-Governmental, Educational, and International Policies.
In addition, several other FEU faculty members have already been accepted as members of the NRCP and are currently awaiting their formal induction.
