Far Eastern University (FEU) chair Aurelio Montinola III has been elected the new president of influential professional organization Management Association of the Philippines (MAP) for 2021. Montinola is the 72nd president of MAP, which was established in 1950.

He is also the chair of the Ramon Magsaysay Award Foundation, the WWF Philippines National Advisory Council, and the National Golf Association of the Philippines. He is the vice chair of the Philippine Business for Education.

In his first speech as MAP President he said the group will focus on securing vaccines for smaller firms not included in the government’s priority list.

Other matters that MAP will prioritize are pushing for the continued improvement of public transportation, ease of doing business through government digitization and improved ICT connectivity, and backing a natural capital accounting bill, which formalizes a process to calculate terrestrial and marine resources.

“We should push out of our comfort zone and pay equal attention to social justice issues, and to lead for the common good,” according to the FEU Chair.
