The Research Advancement in Collaboration and Engagement (RACE) Program of the Hotel and Restaurant Department was instrumental for it to achieve a record high of 11 publications in school year 2023-2024. This achievement aligns with the department’s strategic objectives of cultivating a strong research environment and enhancing the academic reputation of Far Eastern University’s Institute of Tourism and Hotel Management.
The program has ensured that scholarly outputs are significant and have a strong impact by giving priority to the development of research skills and providing platforms for collaboration. This approach has directly led to a significant rise in publications, which is noteworthy in the department’s history.
One tactic of the RACE Program is to encourage international collaboration. Faculty members have had the chance to present their research findings and receive valuable feedback and insights from global experts in the tourism and hospitality industry by participating in international research conferences such as Asia Pacific Tourism Association 2023 and Asia-Pacific Council on Hotel, Restaurant, and Institutional Education 2024 research conference. These interactions improve the quality of research and broaden the scope and influence of their scholarly work. Furthermore, the networking opportunities provided at these events allow faculty members to establish advantageous collaborations, which are crucial for advancing their research agenda and obtaining funding.
