Last May 20 to 22, 2023, Far Eastern University-Institute of Tourism & Hotel Management participated in the 2nd World Summit for Deans of Independent Schools of Hospitality & Tourism hosted by Hongkong Polytechnic University and held in their hotel school, the iconic Hotel Icon.

Dean Joy Sheelah Baraero-Era represented FEU ITHM schools together with seven (7) school representatives from the Philippines out of the forty (40) Deans and School representatives from twenty (20) countries and regions who attended the Summit.

The Summit aimed to convene school heads specializing in tourism and hospitality to discuss strategies and solutions to the different challenges that schools are facing. In addition, valuable insights were discussed from the sharing of best practices crucial to operations such as the quality of teaching and learning, student development, internationalization, research, alumni relationship, and industry partnership.  There was also a collective discussion on the future directions and strategies of tourism and hospitality schools and the need to always build strong relationships within the academe, the industry, and other stakeholders.
