The FEU Institute of Tourism & Hotel Management held a Turnover and Welcome Ceremony for outgoing Dean, Dr. Joy Sheelah Baraero-Era (2018 to 2023) last May 17, 2023,

Dean Joy presented the highlights of her term’s (2018 to 2023) accomplishments and warmly welcomed the incoming Dean, Dr. Harold B. Bueno, Dean of FEU Cavite, who will take the helm of leading the Institute effective June 01, 2023. She will move on as a University Research Fellow.

During her turnover, Dean Era highlighted the gains and some points for directions to move forward in the areas of curriculum development, faculty development, student development, community extension, accreditation, partnership and linkages, and research among others.  In addition, she thanked all the academic managers past and present who served the Institute through the years, the faculty, non-teaching personnel, industry partners, alumni, and students as they all played a big role in the growth and success of the Institute. 

She also welcomed Dean Harold Bueno and expressed her unwavering trust and support to him and the future academic managers who lead the ITHM to greater heights.

An Institute key was turned over to Dean Bueno during the ceremony.  Assoc. Dean Johncent Del Rosario who is also the host of the event explained the symbolic meaning of the Institute Key: “the key symbolizes the functions and responsibilities that the Institute of Tourism & Hotel Management is upholding. May the new Dean, Dr. Harold B. Bueno continue to boost and keep our flame burning to achieve our goals and aspirations in line with the mission and vision of the University.  The key opened several doors for the Institute, and as the new guardian of ITHM, may this key open more doors of opportunities under your reign.”

Dean Bueno expressed his heartfelt gratitude to everyone who made an impact on his career journey in FEU. He shared that he is set to sustain the growth in the Institute and to work on gaining higher level of recognition from government regulatory and accreditation bodies in providing excellent tourism and hospitality education in the country.
