Academic advisers and faculty members of the Institute of Tourism and Hospitality Management (ITHM) continue to be updated on methodologies, ethical guidelines, and institutional research policies.

They aspired to be more effective in research advising by participating in ITHM’s “Train the Adviser Refresher Training and Workshop” recently.

This workshop also aimed to reinforce Far Eastern University (FEU)’s position as a leading institution in transformative education and research excellence. By equipping advisers with updated skills in research methodologies and policies, the event promotes adaptive excellence, ensuring that faculty members are well-prepared to navigate an ever-evolving academic landscape. Emphasizing research integrity and the critical role of advisers, the workshop aligns with FEU-ITHM’s commitment to academic excellence.

It also underscores the importance of regulatory frameworks in research writing, as well as the significance of Introduction, Methods, Results, and Discussion-structure, research agenda frameworks, and artificial intelligence-assisted research. These discussions reflect the institute’s dedication to producing high-quality academic outputs while adhering to institutional research standards. Additionally, the collaborative nature of the workshop allowed participants to identify challenges in research advising and adopt proactive strategies to enhance guidance within ITHM.

The workshop served as a step in enhancing the competencies of research advisers, ensuring they remain well-versed in the latest formats and methodologies to effectively support student researchers. To sustain academic excellence in research advising, future initiatives include continuous training sessions, mentorship programs, and interdisciplinary collaborations.

Additionally, upcoming efforts may focus on advanced research methodologies, the integration of digital tools in research, and student-centered advisory approaches, further strengthening FEU-ITHM’s commitment to producing high-quality academic work.
