“FEU COMMplifiers” from the Far Eastern University Department of Communications clinched multiple awards at The Communications Olympiad organized by the COMCO School of Communications— the training and education arm of COMCO Mundo League of Enterprises—together with the International Association of Business Communicators (IABC) Philippines.
The team earned bronze medals in the Best in Community Activation and Best in Video Storytelling categories. They also received a Special Jury Prize in recognition of their strong commitment to the theme and narrative of “Rewrite Climate Change.”
The finals and awarding ceremony took place on June 27 at The Lighthouse, Lopez Building, Meralco Center, Pasig City.
The team members include second-year Bachelor of Arts in Communication students Johanna Cien T. Rivera (Project Leader), John Carlo E. Manalo (Researcher), Elisha Ruth P. Bulaon (Lead Presenter), and Rafael V. De Ramos (Lead Designer) from the Convergent Media Track, along with Angelo O. Lalaan (Writer) from the Digital Cinema Track. Dr. Augustus Ceasar Latosa served as team adviser.
The competition featured three phases, with official submissions accepted in April. From there, the Top 30 college teams were selected in May, and only 15 moved on to the grand finals. The elimination round included training camps, a 24+ hour hackathon challenge, and the presentation of a strategic communications plan.
