Angelikha Bay, a graduating Bachelor of Fine Arts Major in Advertising Arts student and member of the FEU Dance Company, is the 2022 winner of the Lourdes R. Montinola Excellence in Art and Culture Award. She is only the second to win this prestigious and highly prized competition that first started during the Commencement Exercises of 2018.
Angelikha Bay started her journey in the FEU Dance Company in 2017 and became a full scholar for nine consecutive semesters. Beyond dancing, she was a three-year secretary of the FDC. She also designed two costumes for the group, including the Babaylan costume, which the FDC used in the 2019 Andong International Mask Dance Festival in South Korea, where they won 2nd Runner up.
In addition, Angelikha represented the University in different dance competitions, such as the Crissa Dance Synergy 13 in 2018 (Street Dance, Rank 4) and the UAAP Season 81 Ballroom Formation Dance Competition in 2019 (Ballroom, 3rd Place).
As a choreographer, Angelikha created four virtual performances during the COVID-19 lockdown, including in the FDC’s LockDance virtual dance concert, which she also edited.
