The Far Eastern University (FEU) Alumni Relations Office organized the 2023 FEU Grand Alumni Homecoming last Dec. 2.
“Onward Together” is anchored to FEU’s 95th anniversary theme, “Onward.”
For the first time in so many years, the FEU Alumni Homecoming gathered not just the alumni of the Manila campus but all the campuses in the FEU Group of Schools: Alabang, Cavite, Diliman, FEU Tech, High School, Makati, and Roosevelt. This event also marked the start of the collaboration and shared services of the Alumni Relations Offices of the FEU Group of Schools. Like the iconic Sarimanok, which symbolizes dynamic unity arising from diversity, the Alumni Relations Offices of the different campuses begin working together to achieve their objectives and targets in line with FEU’s Aspiration 2028.
Pinoy singer-songwriter Noel Cabangon and Bossa Nova Queen Sitti graced the event to deliver magnificent performances. At the same time, FEU alums Marielle Montellano, Rob Angeles, and members of the 2001 FEU Dance Troupe and cheerdance alumni also took center stage to offer beautiful song renditions.
Meanwhile, lucky audience-members went home with thrilling raffle prizes, including a trip for two to Thailand, a trip for two to El Nido, Palawan, 10 Monchie’s Lechon, gift items from event sponsors, and several FEU merchandise. Finally, the spotlight was given to FEU alumni jubilarians to celebrate their graduation anniversaries.
Earlier that day, the FEU Alumni Foundation, Inc., together with its officers, board of trustees, and members, convened for its annual general assembly. FEU Chair Aurelio Montinola III addressed the alumni, encouraging their support to FEU in making “meaningful careers” for its graduates a reality through mentorship, industry expertise, and connections.
Furthermore, the Institute of Arts and Sciences gathered its alumni to strengthen their network and linkages and to conduct consultations to improve the programs offered by the institute.
Finally, the FEU SWORD (Reserve Officers’ Training Corps) Alumni Association facilitated the oath of office of its newly elected officers and met with its members for a general meeting. Also honoring their occasion with his presence was FEU Chair Montinola.
The homecoming is an activity that encourages the alumni’s visibility and participation in various university-related internal and external events. This is an opportune time for the alumni to reflect on their time at FEU, rekindle their friendship with classmates, and consider how they might support a cause and give back to the community.
