For his outstanding support as a tourism expert, Dr. Harold Bueno, Dean of the Institute of Tourism and Hotel Management, received a plaque of recognition during the Tourism Excellence Awards by the Department of Tourism- 4A last Jan. 29 in Taal Vista Hotel, Tagaytay.

The recognition acknowledges Dr. Bueno’s outstanding support of various tourism human capital development programs of the DOT in CALABARZON.

His expertise in promoting food sustainability and the application of the farm-to-table concept in utilizing community resources to boost local and community-based tourism played a significant role in securing this recognition for ITHM.

This commitment to sustainable tourism practices has positively impacted the skills of the local community. By emphasizing the importance of locally available resources and sustainable agricultural practices, he has helped enhance the culinary experience for tourists.
