Far Eastern University (FEU) achieved a significant milestone by signing a memorandum of understanding (MOU) with the University of Zagreb, Croatia, becoming the first academic institution in the Philippines to partner with the Republic of Croatia.

The MOU was signed in the presence of His Excellency Nebojsa Koharovic, Ambassador to the Philippines, Republic of Croatia, and Dr. Dana Lusa, Vice Dean for Student Affairs, University of Zagreb. FEU was represented by the Dr. Rowena Capulong Reyes, Dean of the Institute of Arts and Sciences.  

The first partnership with the University of Zagreb is an adjunct faculty program with Dr. Robert Mikac from the Department of Political Science, IAS. This alliance will open opportunities for faculty and staff exchange, joint programs such as study, research, and conferences. Scientific, educational, and cultural programs, as well as academic activity promotion and integrated cultural programs will be also explored.

Other prominent guests from Croatia and the University of Zagreb who attended the momentous occasion were H.E. Dr. Ivan Velimir Starcevic, Ambassador Embassy of the Republic of Croatia to Malaysia, Full Professor Lidija Kos-Stanišić, Associate Prof. Ružica Jakešević, Associate Prof. Hrvoje Jakopović, Associate Prof., Robert Mikac, and Assistant Prof. Borna Zgurić.

This academic cooperation was made possible with the help of Dr. Rosalind Wee, president of W Group Inc. and an esteemed FEU alumna.
