Two teams from the FEU Institute of Accounts, Business and Finance (IABF) competed in the 5th MonsoonSim Enterprise Resource Management Competition (MERMC) International Finals last August 10-11, 2019 at the Hong Kong Polytechnic University. Team Amihan and Team Habagat, composed of ten 5th year BS Accountancy students earned the trip after winning the National Finals of the 2019 MERMC last July 6, 2019.
The competition is designed to encourage students to learn and embrace business process learning to promote the concept of experiential learning via the Enterprise Resource Planning (ERP) game platform or gamification and to incubate future ERP talents. Three categories; Main Grand Finals, Special Engagement and Adventure and participated in all 26 teams from 8 different countries.
Team Habagat composed of Angelyn Abueva, Mark Kennedy Estrada, Airah Laroche Toquero, Romaine Chalsea Ronquillo, and James Bryan Vega won 2nd Runner-up in the Adventure round. Team Amihan, which was declared as National Champion in the 2019 Philippines edition, is composed of Gio Angelo De Leon, Ma. Angela Caboles, Luis Christian Fontanilla, John Paul Lopez and Jethro Tomas.
Kasetsart University (Thailand) bagged the top award in the Main Grand Finals followed by Universiti Sains Malaysia and Hong Kong University of Science and Technology.
Two (2) IABF faculty members, Lady Dianne Madrid-Co and Rian Ceasar Soliman served as official coaches and accompanied the teams during the competition.
