True to their commitment to the Sustainable Development Goals of the UN, specifically “quality education” and “partnerships for the goals,” Far Eastern University and Jerudong Park Medical Center Sdn Bhd launched their new school building for nursing students in Brunei.
Other than the Bachelor of Science in Nursing program, JPMC College of Health Sciences Sdn Bhd (JCHS)—as the partnership is formally called—also offers Foundation in Science Certification.
“It is an honor to have been asked by Jerudong Park Medical Center (JPMC), the leading hospital in Brunei, to partner and establish together a Nursing school. I am very proud of this partnership, as it is the first for FEU, and I believe the first for any Philippine school, to have its curriculum and faculty deployed abroad,” said FEU President Juan Miguel R. Montinola.
“Our school is brimming with potential and possibilities. We will continue to expand our programs and offerings, constantly adapting to the evolving needs of the healthcare industry. We shall invest in state-of-the-art facilities, ensuring that our students have access to the best resources to enhance their learning experience,” JCHS Chief Executive Officer Chung Yea Fui is quoted by James Kon of the Borneo Bulletin to have said.
Other FEU officials and members of the Board of Directors of JCHS who attended the launch last August 18 were former President Dr. Michael Alba and Senior Vice President for Academic Affairs Maria Teresa Trinidad Tinio.
