Far Eastern University hosted the Whisky Live Training 2022 last October 19 at the Alfredo Reyes Hall.
The event was organized by the FEU Institute of Tourism and Hotel Management, Hotel and Restaurant Management Department with the assistance of HRM Society Officers and Bar Tamaraws Committee. The training aims to introduce the next generation to whiskey and the various career opportunities available in the whiskey industry.
The Whisky Live Mentorship Program is in its fourth year and has served as an important training ground for many young industry professionals. It was hosted by The Spirits Library and Mr. Lee Watsons, as well as Mr. Richie Cruz of Pinoytender Management Consultancy and Mr. Johnssen Li of Grand Cru Wines and Spirits Inc.
Ms. Claire Jhoanne Planas and Mr. Elijah Gonzales, both 4th Year BS HRM students were selected as student-apprentices who will will compete against other schools at the Whisky Live Manila event on November 4-5, 2022, at Shangrila-Fort. They will be paired with Mr. Genrev Paul Bacasno, General Manager of Wolfgang’s Steakhouse, BGC and Mr. Errol Khim Barbosa, Bar Consultant of Roof Manila. The mentors will train them on bartending and cocktail mixing in preparation for the contest.
