Double South East Asian Games gold medalist Clare Castro and high-flying Baby Tam Chiolo Anonuevo will be awarded as scholar-athletes of the year from FEU by the UAAP for Season 82.
The UAAP gives this award each season to one college and one high school student-athlete from each university, who best exemplify excellence in both athletics and academics.
After being named Mythical 5 in the UAAP with averages of 15.8 points, 10.6 rebounds and 3.4 blocks, Clare won 2 gold medals in the South East Asian Games last December in 5 on 5 and 3 on 3 women’s basketball. She also graduated with a degree in Bachelor of Science in Hotel and Restaurant Management.
Chiolo meanwhile, became a highlight sensation for the Baby Tams in High School basketball with his slam dunks and complete all-around game. His Season 82 numbers of 8.9 points, 8.9 rebounds, 3.3 assists and 2.1 steals show his vast potential for continued success as he moves on to the Tamaraws this coming season.
