A total of 50 organizations from various industries participated in this year’s edition of BANQUET (Building and Nurturing Quality Established Ties). This is FEU Placement’s appreciation event for its external partners and FEU community (including academic managers and students) who have been involved in different types of engagements – from speakership on career-related topics, coaching for interview, recruiting of potential talents to engaging in curricular involvement, amongst others.
The enhancement of the evaluation structure for students is part of the university’s thrust for transformative learning. The event was integrated with an informative session facilitated by Institute of Education Dean Harold Culala, who explained FEU’s current grading system.
FEU alumni and former external scholarship grantees Katherine Mae Malagueño (BSBA Business Management) and Jeric Gayona, CPA (BS Accountancy) spoke on behalf of their fellow beneficiaries to thank the companies that helped them, namely Refinitiv (formerly Thomson Reuters) and SM Foundation, respectively.
he event’s theme, “Strengthening Partnership for a Braver Tamaraw in the Workplace”, a concept designed by the Placement Office along with two Academic Services units, Admissions and Financial Assistance and Student Development, aligns with the heightening of the university’s work transition aspiration for its graduates.
“Our pursuit of upscaling our students and matching them with the new jobs created would be the next challenge that we hope we will conquer”, said by Assistant Vice President for Academic Services Joeven R. Castro. The message is a call for continuous cooperation between the academe and the graduates’ future employers in preparing the students towards their future career.
