Far Eastern University, in partnership with Philippine Air Force Reserve Command, Ronald McDonald House of Charities-Philippines, Anytime Fitness Asia, Black Pencil Project, Magician FERDiNi, Christ-Church Ortigas Mission, MC Display & Metalcraft Corp. TACT Mission, Pahinga Store, Stripes Ministry, and the Provincial Government of Batanes conducted an outreach program recently.
The program included the turnover of school supplies, armchairs, sports equipment, distribution of 1,000 packs of meals and 10,000 pieces of toys from McDonald’s, livelihood training, youth leadership, and puppet show by magician/ventriloquist FERDINI.
More than 1,000 Basco and Sabtang, Batanes students benefited from the program.
FEU’s participation in the outreach program is part of the different initiatives of the university to help ensure an inclusive and equitable quality education and promotion of lifelong learning opportunities for all or UN Sustainable Development Goal (SDG) 4 as well as SDG 17. Other programs include scholarships for financially challenged but deserving students, alumni-led scholarship and financial aid for college and technical vocational training, and annual Brigada Eskwela.
Deputy Commander and Brig. Gen. Llewillyn Banaag represented the Airforce Reserve Command together with Col. Maribbelle Manangbao, Maj. Luzthelta Ravelo, and reservists Tech. Sgt. Milani Pagauitan, Tech. Sgt. Henry Pagauitan, and Sgt. Jennifer Villa Valiente.
Alumni Relations Office Director Celmer Santos represented FEU, while Poch Garcia and Anne Constantino represented Anytime Fitness Asia. Provincial Gov. Marilou Cayco and Sabtang Vice Mayor Clemente Ladreza welcomed the group.
