Two student teams from Far Eastern University won the top prizes in LSEG Excelsior, which is the first ever inter-university research competition facilitated by London Stock Exchange Group-Philippines.

Copping the top prize was “morayta.ai”, which presented a study on “Creative Destruction: How AI Development is a Positive Driving Force in Global Economy and Society in Correlation of AI-Index to Inflation and Unemployment.”

The winning team is composed of Bachelor of Science in Applied Mathematics (BSAM) students Jhon Kheil Cymon Empeno, Harvey Lemuel Ducay, Frances Aneth Rosales, Christopher Gilbert Bayquen, and Bachelor of Science in Business Administration student Josh Miguel Tagle. They took home P30,000 worth of prizes.

Meanwhile, “Team ARKT” finished 1st Runner-Up with “ESG Rating as the Future of Both Financial and Sustainable Goals.

Team ARKT presented insights into how ESG ratings can simultaneously advance financial performance and sustainability goals.

Team ARKT is composed of Bachelor of Science in Financial Management students Aaliyah Alcazar and Wilbert Daniel Torres, Bachelor of Science in Financial Management student Wilbert Daniel Torres, and BSAM student Mostafa Khafaji. They took home P20,000 worth of prizes.

Competing teams were tasked to research, analyze, and present a position paper on global equities. LSEG held mentoring sessions in early November and the teams had to submit their reports by Nov. 18. The shortlisted teams made a final presentation at the LSEG Philippines Office in Taguig.

The prizes were awarded last Dec. 6 in the same venue.
