Jay Jomar Geroza and Learah Grace Magboo from the Institute of Tourism and Hotel Management represented the Far Eastern University in the recently concluded 9th International Student Summer Program at Hungkuang University, Taiwan.
Several international university partners were also invited to join FEU as the Philippines’ representative at the 14-day summer camp in Taichung, Taiwan, which took place from Aug. 6 to 20. Other participating countries are Indonesia, Vietnam, Thailand, South Korea, Japan, Spain, Columbia, and Canada.
The HKU Summer Camp provides local students a venue to interact with the international representatives and promote Taiwan’s culture, language, and food.
Activities include various Mandarin courses, hands-on activities such as bobba making, tours, and cultural experiences. Participants were also able to visit notable attractions such as Gaomei Wetland, National Palace Museum, Taipei 101, National Taiwan Museum of Fine Arts, National Taichung Theater, Fengjia Night Market, and Sun Moon Lake.
The activity was made possible through the International Relations Office and Student Development Office for fully supporting international student mobility programs that offer learning diversification beyond the borders of FEU.
The summer program ended with Geroza, who represented the entire international student participants, delivering his closing speech.
